How To Build Link Popularity With Highly Relevant Inbound Links For Increased Search Engine Traffic
Today I am going to show you how to increase your link popularity with effective inbound links that equate to building high search engine traffic that convert more business faster. When I say higher business conversion rates, I am referring to the inbound links for search engine exposure received from other high ranking websites or blogs with which internet marketers have a strong internet business relationship built on mutual respect and trust for one another in a way that is like a joint venture proposition in affiliate marketing that involves cross-promoting each other. In other words, you rub my back and I rub yours. Successful internet marketers not only promote their own high demand best selling products. They also are smart enough to promote their competitor’s products provided that their competitor offer something of value to their customers which they can’t provide.
That is the true meaning of highly relevant websites optimized for their target market traffic that refers their online visitors to their competitor’s site for the unique products being offered, which happens to be in the same industry as theirs. This type of B2B lead generation strategy of referral marketing leads to strong business building credibility for potential future sales coming from the consumer who didn’t buy from you. This type of customer trust and confidence in the form of product endorsements is exactly what a lot of businesses lack: Genuineness and sincerity!!!
These business building ingredients in a carefully thought out business plan are crucial in your link popularity efforts coupled with branding yourself for increased profitability. And the customer who didn’t buy from you will remember you for life. This strategy of creating a business identity through increased search engine traffic is achieved through a powerful link popularity building program that involves connecting with highly relevant websites with the same theme as yours.
For example, if you are selling colon cleansing products, you will link to a site that sells organic foods. For those who are not familiar with the aspects of colon cleansing, consumption of clean foods are critical. And that is where organic foods come into play.
If you are a promoting a network marketing company, this link popularity strategy does apply if you are promoting a network marketing blog or website. This is an activity that a lot of inexperienced network marketers are not taking advantage of. And network marketing is based on the relationship building philosophy. And credible inbound links establishes the first important contact that paves the way for a long term relationship that results in MLM downline retention.
In the previous posts, I talked about varying the anchor text of your inbound links to avoid the possibility of being accused by Google of anchor text spamming your way to the top of the search engines. Remember how I said that Google loves variety and uniqueness. So check your referrer logs of your blog or website to make sure that the anchor text is not repetitive. For those who are not familiar with referrer logs, they provide information on the website where your visitors are coming from. It is critical to know that your website visitors are coming from a website that is relevant to yours. With the example of the colon cleansing site you are promoting, just make sure the visitors are not coming from a site that sells car accessories.
Since you have no power over who links to you, it is more likely going to negatively impact the website that is sending their outbound link to your colon cleansing site. So in this example, the car accessories website that chose to link to you is hurting their own rankings as a result of irrelevant anchor text linking. As you are looking at your referrer logs, you have the option to delete those irrelevant inbound links. Not doing so is not really going to affect your rankings that much compared to irrelevant outbound links.
The point I am trying to make is that if you have Alexa.com linking to you, then of course, you want to keep that particular inbound link because Alexa.com is a high ranking and reputable website. It is in your best interest to get as many high quality inbound links as possible. The only time when this rule is not applicable is when the inbound link is coming from a bad site (like for example, hate sites, propaganda sites, or other sites that have little or no traffic…not indexed or ranked at all).
As a matter of fact, you can use Alexa.com to verify the traffic rank of the site linking to you. Alexa will tell you that immediately right after you enter their URL in their search box. In other words, you will know how much traffic that site linking to yours is getting. Ideally, you want the site to be in the 100,000 traffic rank to be worth linking to.
There is no perfect rule of thumb. Many times you will encounter websites that are not ranked high at all that have great content that pertain to what your target market is looking for. And most of them are websites or blogs that are not well optimized for search engine optimization. And those sites definitely need some help in this area to help them get their site inside the 100,000 Alexa traffic rank. As a matter of fact, my blog is not even close to the 100,000 and I still have bloggers, content syndicators, and website owners linking to me because of my relevant content.
My opinion is that if the website linking to mine has great content and I can tell that they put a lot of effort in putting the blog together, then I will link to them regardless of their Alexa ranking. I am a big fan of highly relevant information that your target market is hungry for. The goal is to keep your visitors on your site as long as possible which plays a major role in your search engine rankings.
For example, if visitors took a tour of your blog, and before they could leave, they noticed an interesting comment on your blog’s sidebar written by a commentor. The visitors are most likely going to click the anchor text that will take them into the commentor’s website or blog. This is known as anchor text referral. In other words, Google will make a note that it is I who referred the visitors to my commentor’s blog. Even though those visitors left my site to go into the commentor’s blog, it is still counted as part of my Google Adwords quality score. Let me give you an example what I am talking about.
Let’s say if those visitors stay on the commentor’s site longer than yours, you will still get the credit from Google. It is no different than an insurance salesman referring their prospect to a real estate agent. And if the prospect ends up buying a home from the real estate agent, the insurance salesman still gets the credit even though he didn’t sell any insurance to that prospect. Google ranking factors works pretty much the same way like that client-referral scenario I just gave.
So the point of this lesson is to make sure that you are linking to good content that your visitors are hungry for. This will require thorough analysis of their websites and blogs. That is part of your daily homework that you don’t want to skip. It can mean the big difference between no traffic OR high search engine traffic for your blog and website.
Just remember that people are big fans of websites that bring them good quality content regardless of how they got it. Now do you see why highly relevant content syndication has been the key factor behind the growth of many new blogs or websites that have literally exploded with traffic. And these are blogs run by internet marketers who cannot write to save their souls.
See you on the next post for more on the subject of how to improve link popularity with highly relevant inbound links for massive search engine traffic.
